Oxford Brookes University has an exciting opportunity for a proactive Health and Safety Adviser to join a professional People Development Team on a full time, permanent basis.

The post holder will be responsible for: providing support and guidance to Faculties and Directorates to help them meet their health and safety responsibilities and for promoting safe working practices. In addition, the post holder will also contribute to the management of health and safety across the whole University, including the development of health and safety policies and procedures; providing advice and guidance regarding compliance with relevant statutory requirements, legislation and regulations, and promote best practice in accordance with sector and professional standards. Key responsibilities will also include undertaking health and safety audits and inspections, supporting investigations, and participating in working groups for the delivery of specific health and safety projects. The ability to design and deliver effective health and safety and related training, and to convey complex health and safety requirements with pragmatism and clarity is also an essential aspect of the role.

Qualifications required for post : National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) Certificate or equivalent.
