The Health and Kinesiology Department offers undergraduate programs in Exercise Physiology, Physical Education (licensure and non licensure), Health Studies, Public Health, Health Science and graduate programs in physical education. Fitness is a primary public health concern in our society today, encompassing issues such as physical education in school, obesity, and preventive medicine. On a more personal level, many people spend hours each week pursuing their fitness goals and striving for better health. Our department is ideal for someone interested in health and fitness, physical education, coaching, training, performance programs and motion therapy.

Essential Duties
Core Duties: Teach Exercise Science courses in the Exercise Physiology, Physical Education and Health Science Major.
Teach a variety of discipline specific content courses in exercise physiology, fitness, motor development, sport nutrition, and related areas.
Advise students
Pursue professional activities that advance scholarship in the area(s) of exercise science and related areas.
Provide service to the department, college, and university aimed at advancing the institutional mission of Bridgewater State University.
Candidates must demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of students from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of abilities.
Required Qualifications
Earned MS in Exercise Science or related field
Experience teaching Exercise Science.
Background or professional experience in fitness and/or cardiac rehabilitation.
Strong commitment to excellence in teaching and advising, and working in an environment that fosters diversity, equity and inclusion.
Ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning.
Preferred Qualifications
Earned doctorate in Exercise Science or related field.
Previous experience working in a physiology of exercise laboratory setting.
Strong record of mentoring undergraduate or graduate research.
