Job description

The Digital Department are looking for P ermanent Head of Product!

Full time (36.5 hours per week)

Hybrid working – This is a hybrid role that offers flexible working between home and our Streatham Campus.

As Head of Product you will drive the creation and execution of our product strategy, enhancing the digital experience for students, staff, and stakeholders. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, managing the Product team and working collaboratively with senior leadership to deliver innovative digital solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management, digital innovation and a proven track record of developing exceptional digital products.

What you'll be doing…

  • Lead Product Vision and Roadmap: Drive the university's digital strategy to meet 2030 goals.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Engage with senior leadership and stakeholders to align digital solutions with their needs.
  • Oversee Product Development: Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation to launch.
  • Champion User-Centric Design: Ensure digital products meet diverse user needs.

  • Monitor Performance: Define and track KPIs for digital products and initiatives.

  • Develop Product Team: Mentor and lead the Product team, promoting Agile principles and university values.
  • Promote Continuous Improvement: Identify new delivery approaches to enhance digital capabilities.

  • Proven leadership experience in product management, ideally within a digital transformation context.
  • Track record of developing and implementing product strategies and roadmaps.
  • Strong understanding of product management principles and best practices.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in using data analytics and insights to inform product decisions.
  • Experience in delivering complex organisational change and building unified teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across departments and levels.
  • Ability to develop and communicate a clear product vision aligned with organisational goals.
