Are you a senior development and alumni relations professional looking for an exciting opportunity to lead a new, innovative programme? Perhaps you are a strategic thinker who enjoys cultivating long-lasting relationships with senior stakeholders. If you are interested in working for an organisation who truly has an impact on the world we live in, then we can't wait to hear from you!

At the Institute of Continuing Education, we are looking to appoint a new Head of Development and Alumni Relations who shares our commitment to supporting adults to learn at every stage of their life. This is an exciting new role that will lead the future strategic direction of fundraising and alumni engagement at the Institute. The function sits within the Institute's External Engagement Division, which also includes the marketing, student recruitment and admissions functions.

Continuing education is currently one of the most exciting, prominent, and fastest moving fields in UK-based and global higher education. The University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) is an established leader in the field, tracing its roots back to 1873.

We deliver high quality and distinctive educational programmes for adult learners, predominantly studying on a part-time basis, for either personal enrichment or professional development. We are a warm and supportive team who are passionate about what we do. You will find it a welcoming place to work!

You will be responsible for establishing and growing a new function at the Institute that aligns with the strategic priorities of the Institute of Continuing Education and the mission and values of Cambridge University Development and Alumni Relations (CUDAR) office. You will play the lead role in shaping and delivering both the Institute's fundraising and alumni engagement strategies, with a focus on raising funds and support for key strategic initiatives.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong track record in a broad range of fundraising and alumni engagement activities. Candidates must also have strong relationship management skills, the ability to communicate with staff at all levels, and be an exceptional leader. The role has both strategic and operational elements.

This position is based at Madingley Hall, just outside Cambridge. We practice a hybrid working model and the successful candidate will be expected to be in the office for a minimum of two days a week.
