Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Windmill Road, Oxford.

We are looking for a Graduate Studies Assistant (GSA) to join the Education Team at the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences. As the GSA, you will support the Graduate Studies Officer (GSO) and Graduate Studies Manager (GSM), in the administrative planning and delivery of the annual post-graduate student (Post-Graduate Research and Post-Graduate Taught) admissions cycle. This includes assisting in all matters relating to student recruitment, student selection and student conversion.

You will collate relevant information and arrange advertisement, both on the NDORMS website and via external advertising companies. You will raise purchase orders (POs) for advertising as/when appropriate and collaborate with the NDORMS Communications Team to ensure the projects are available for the opening of the University application process. You will support the organisation of the induction programmes for new postgraduate students. You will liaise with the Directors of Graduate Studies and Co-Directors of Taught Courses to help organise the core lecture week and circulate the programmes to the new intakes well in advance of the induction week.

You must be Educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent qualification) and/or have significant work experience in an HEI and hold GSCEs in Maths and English at Grade C (or equivalent) or above. You must have the ability to interpret, apply and communicate regulations, policy and procedures accurately whilst working independently with a willingness to resolve situations, as well as knowing when to refer issues to colleagues. Experience of working within an HE institution or within a service industry environment, as well as financial administration, including the ability to be numerate and accurate, with excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach is desirable.

This is a part time (80% FTE) permanent appointment.
