Job description

Faculty of Health and Life Sciences

INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY

The post

The Faculty wishes to recruit a part-time (7 hours per week) Graduate Research Assistant or Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the work of Dr Aseel Mahmoud. This MENA Global Partnership funded post is available immediately on a fixed-term basis until 30th July 2024 in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at the University of Exeter.

This post is hybrid and can be fully remote if the postholder cannot travel to St Luke's campus.

This post is funded by Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Global Partnership Fund for a collaborative programme of research in pharmacy practice research. The ultimate aim of the proposed programme of research is to extend pharmacists' roles in asthma management in Gulf countries in order to improve patients' outcomes, including improving asthma symptoms' control, and quality of life and decreasing the risk of asthma attacks and related hospital admissions.

The postholder will work under supervision of Dr Aseel Mahmoud, Postdoctoral Research Fellow and be a part of Exeter and Gulf Pharmacy Practice Collaboration (ExeG PPC) that involves academics and researchers from Exeter, United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

About you

The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.

Applicants will be educated to first degree level or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study or equivalent experience and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. Applicants will be able to conduct and analyse survey.
