  • About the Role

    The Graduate Library Officer is a developmental position for those intending to undertake UniSA's Graduate Diploma in Library and Information Management or who have recently completed Postgraduate studies in Information Management. The Graduate Library Officer will develop the skills and knowledge to enable them to successfully undertake duties within the library and information science profession whilst undertaking rotations though various service areas of the Library.

    This role requires changes in the duties undertaken at intervals determined by the Deputy Director to provide opportunities to broaden experience and allow the Library to respond to new university priorities.

The Library also coordinates copyright for the University. There are four campus libraries, located at City East, City West, Magill, and Mawson Lakes as well as the Off Campus Library Service. Information technology and information resource management services are on the Mawson Lakes campus. The Library has growing research collections with over 700,000 eBooks and online journals as well as print resources and archival collections.

    The Library is operating in an environment of increasing availability of and demand for digital information, and plays a significant role in training staff and students in information skills.

    Essential Skills and Experience

  • Recent Graduate from UniSA or expected completion by end of 2024 in a related discipline
  • Eligible to meet the requirements for entry into Postgraduate studies in Information Management at the University of South Australia
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly become a productive member of a cross- functional team
  • Demonstrated written, verbal and interpersonal skills to enable effective communication and interaction with other people at appropriate levels of the organisation
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, a high level of customer service
