Nanook Recreation at the University of Alaska Fairbanks is seeking a graduate assistant to help with evening wellness and recreational sport programming and weekend special events for students. This position will work closely with the Nanook Recreation professional and student staff to plan, promote, and implement various activities that enhance the physical, mental, and social well-being of the UAF community. Duties:10Assist with the marketing and outreach of programs and events through social media, flyers, newsletters, tabling etc.Essential
10Coordinate and supervise the setup and breakdown of equipment and facilities for programs and eventsEssential
10Monitor and enforce safety and risk management protocols for participants and staffEssential
20Assist with the development and delivery of wellness and recreation programs such as fitness classes, recreational sports, wellness workshops, and other recreational activities for studentsEssential
35Supervise evening wellness and recreational programming and weekend special events for studentsEssential
5Attend regular staff meetings and trainings Perform other duties as assigned by the {SUPERVISORY STAFF MEMBER}Essential
5Conduct surveys and evaluations to assess the needs and satisfaction of participantsEssential
5Maintain records and reports of program attendance, budget, inventory, etc.Essential

Preferred Experience & Education:
Previous experience in wellness, intramurals, recreation programming or related field Experience with marketing and social media management in a professional environment
Required Experience & Education:
Must be admitted to a graduate program at UAF, taking at least six credits and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
Salary Information:
This is a 9 month position with an opportunity to work during the summer months if desired. Starting rate is $21.00 per hour.
