Here's more about the role and what we're looking for:
We are looking for an experienced Technician to join our team.
As an important member of the team, you will:
Provide technical support to academic staff, students and researchers
across a range of disciplines including soil science, water chemistry,
river sciences, river ecology, geochronology, climate, geographical
mapping systems (GIS) and surveying.
Assist teaching activities that will include residential field courses,
laboratory and field based sessions.
Provide core laboratory support to day to day activities.
Have a hands-on, pro-active approach to tasks and a 'can-do' attitude.
You will also work as part of the broader technical support team supporting
the School of Social Sciences and Humanities' strategic aims.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience of working within a University or scientific laboratory
within a physical science subject.
Be highly motivated, working well with others as part of a small team.
Able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a variety
of people in a variety of situations.
Able to prioritise workload effectively, adhere to tight deadlines.
Meet the University's requirements for driving cars and becoming a
University Driver.
Have an HNC in Science or related subject, or equivalent qualification.
