Job reference: 1215464 Your new role University study pathways have the potential to open people up to many exciting career and life opportunities. Perhaps you've even studied a university degree yourself and can personally attest to this? If the idea of establishing and maintaining meaningful relationships with key WA School and TAFE stakeholders and working closely with them to ensure students understand the potential benefits and rewards of choosing a degree with Curtin excites you, this could be the role for you!

Working within the University's Future Student Engagement team, in this role you will use your outstanding student and stakeholder engagement/management skills, and passion for education and supporting young people to find their future pathways, which in turn will support the strategic need to grow our domestic student market pipelines.

A day in the role may include, but would not be limited to:

  • Daily engagement with high school students, parents and/or teachers on campus or at schools, helping to settle any fears from students on their ability to get into university, and influencing successful applications.
  • Giving presentations to large groups of students on Curtin's courses, faculties, alternative study pathways, early offer options, student wellbeing and support on campus, student accommodation options, student community groups, and how to maximise their chance of getting accepted by setting their preferences in TISC. Being a confident public speaker is essential!
  • Attending university expos and major recruitment events such as Open Day, and webinars.
  • Providing tailored 1:1 advice to students as required
  • The role will have you out on the road, meeting and connecting people, as you build meaningful working relationships that ensure the best possible future student experience. The role will occasionally take you to regional and rural areas such as the Great Southern, South-West, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, and other gold-belt towns, so having the willingness and ability to travel for work when required is essential, noting that modes of transportation will be provided by the university.

This position offers a unique opportunity to actively engage with students from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that education is accessible to all. If you have a passion for working with equity groups, we invite you to join us in making a difference. Explore Curtin's dynamic Student Equity and Inclusion Framework for more details: https: // tinyurl.com/4yr7jju8.

What we are looking for: You'll be a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to retain large amounts of information around courses and admission criteria. Ideally, you might also have previous work experience and proven established relationships within the WA High School landscape, noting this is not essential.

  • A current valid Working with Children's check is an essential requirement for this position.
  • Drivers License preferred, but not essential
  • The position offers a degree of flexibility as negotiated with the Line Manager, and the successful candidate must be available to work evenings and weekends as required.

You will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
