  • About the Role Joining the University of Melbourne Smart Campus team, the Full Stack Developer focuses on advancing the Smart Campus Platform. Responsibilities include enhancing the platform codebase, contributing to user journey mapping, and resolving bugs within an agile framework.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Innovate and maintain Smart Campus' CampusNow application through full- stack development with AWS technologies and modern programming languages
  • Develop and maintain a flexible front-end architecture and APIs, alongside back-end serverless functions to support data pipelines
  • Innovate data processing pipelines for near real-time data availability, including data integration design and real-time analytics
  • Collaborate with the product team to ensure alignment with architectural standards and patterns
  • Who we are looking for You will have extensive experience in AWS cloud platforms, including serverless technologies, and moderate development skills in Node.js and Python. You must have proficiency in AWS services like Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Kinesis, CloudFront, and API Gateway, as well as experience with CloudFormation and CI/CD using GitLab/GitHub.

    You will also have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in UI / Web development, Node JS, React JS & Redux (or equivalent client-side state management) is required or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
  • Strong experience in Typescript, JavaScript, HTML 5/CSS 3.0 technologies
  • Strong experience with RESTful APIs and VSCode
  • Experience working in agile environments with core understanding of DevOps & CI/CD principles

    This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to- date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
