Department Name Athletics Football Filmers The hiring departments available work study funding is: This department has federal funds available Position Summary

Filming for UCA football is a job with a high level of accountability and it requires attention to detail in environments with high energy. Filmers are not a separate entity- they are in fact a part of the UCA football team. The product you provide each practice determines the quality of tape that our coaching staff can watch to evaluate our players. Our team is as good as our film crew. It simply cannot be done without YOU. This fact is not meant to scare applicants- it is to make applicants aware of the honor it is to have this role on OUR team. Each game is distributed to dozens of other football programs across the country, and the quality of our product is a reflection of the standard we have here at UCA. Filmers are treated with great respect and are extremely valued when they are invested in their role on this team. This job does not require expert filmers or experts in the sport of football. You will be trained to film based on the preferences of our coaching staff. Accountability is a must but it does not mean there will be an immense amount of pressure. As long as you have a willingness to learn/improve each week and have pride in your performance then you are well suited for this job.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Applicants must be available to work atleast 3 days a week throughout the entire fall semester. This is a job that requires you to learn and improve day to day with our training and that cannot be accomplished without consistently working.

- Daily schedules are usually from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the week - Practices in the fall are held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday - Practices in the Spring range from Monday thru Saturday for a span of four or five weeks

2. Applicants need to be willing to sometimes work in various weather conditions - Hot afternoons - Cold weather - Rain(rarely- will be provided rain gear if so) - Early mornings for practice or late nights for games

3. Applicants need to be willing to sometimes film from tall structures during practice or games. A fear of heights will not prevent you from being eligible for this position, but it is preferred that you are okay with heights.

4. Applicants need to be available to travel atleast one weekend during the fall semester to film away games. Most away games we leave early on Friday & return late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

5. Applicants need to be flexible with their availability. Things happen that can be out of your's or other filmer's control. Family matters, class, sick, & etc. will happen. Sudden changes throughout the semester should be expected. So flexibility to work with sudden/unexpected changes in the weekly schedule are preferred.

6. Applicants need to have a high attention to detail. Every play and every rep in a drill matters. This job requires your undivided attention the entire practice or game. Missing plays, missing reps, or recording late because you get distracted on your phone or something else is not acceptable. This is not a hard job by any means. It does not require expert skills in film. All it requires is your undivided attention while working and having pride in what you are doing- those two qualities alone require ZERO skill & will alleviate any unnecessary mistakes. Things happen- technical malfunctions or other factors outside of your control. Knowing that means we must be focused on what we can control to eliminate simple mistakes.
