Job information

Putteridge Bury is a country house on the edge of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire boarder. The mansion was built in the style of Chequers by architects Sir Ernest George and Alfred Yeats and was completed in its current form in 1911. The grounds were redesigned by Edwin L Lutyens, soon to be recognised as the foremost architect of the era, and planted by Gertrude Jekyll one of the first lady Victorian gardeners. Particular features of the estate are the reflective pool and yew hedges.

Putteridge Bury Estate is owned and operated by the University of Bedfordshire and the house was formerly used to support our research and education programmes. Significant investment is in place to restore the heritage of the estate as we look to transform and develop the house and gardens to provide a unique conference, events and weddings facility.

To support our ongoing success we are now looking to recruit a dedicated Food and Beverage Manager into the team. Our goal is to maximize revenue opportunities through high level customer satisfaction and great employee engagement and the post holder will be a key member of our small but dedicated team.

Responsible for managing all F&B related operations and for delivering an excellent guest experience, the successful candidate will need to be a big personality front of house but must also be able to demonstrate the ability to plan and manage the back of house operations in an effective and financially astute manner.

The candidate is likely to have extensive experience in a similar role, particularly with an events background but may also be at the top of the tree in a headline supervisory capacity looking for a positive career move.
