Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Financial Assistant for Rutgers Global.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Prepares SciQuest requisitions for all Rutgers Global offices. Ensure all invoices are charged correctly and submitted in a timely manner. Maintain a good working relationship with other departments with whom Rutgers Global interact.
  • Prepares and reviews Expense Reports for Study Abroad Faculty who are returning from Faculty Lead programs as well as for Staff members as needed. Ensure all expense reimbursement requests are in compliance with the University Travel Policy and are submitted in the system within 60 day upon return from a trip.
  • Assists the Business Coordinator with all newly hired staff, ensuring all charging instructions are entered promptly and that salary is correctly charged to the appropriate account. Alert Associate Director of any issues and submit SWRJ to correct any discrepancy.
  • Helps the Associate Director when necessary with review of Rutgers Global accounts and reconciling departmental and program accounts, to ensure that budgets are adhered to University, State and Federal, and all other applicable policies and regulations.
  • Assists with the reconciliation of the Study Abroad foreign bank accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Performs other duties as needed within Rutgers Global.

    Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.

    Immunization Requirements

    Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster upon eligibility and upload proof of same. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain a medical or religious exemption from the University will result in rescission of a candidate's offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
