JOB SUMMARY
This position provides support for the university's financial aid functions.
MAJOR DUTIES
Advises students, prospective students and parents concerning the financial aid process. Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance. Answers office emails. Reviews student paperwork for accuracy and completeness. Maintains Federal Work Study and Consortium student spreadsheets; prepares reports to consortium schools as required. Remains informed of current governmental and accreditation regulations governing each aid program. Participates in workshops designed to acquaint students, parents, and high school counselors with financial aid processes. Performs related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Knowledge of hard copy and electronic records management principles. Skill in the operation of computers and job related software programs. Skill in decision making and problem solving. Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public. Skill in oral and written communication.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
The work consists of related administrative duties. Frequent interruptions contribute to the complexity of the position. The purpose of this position is to provide support for the university's financial aid processes. Success in this position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the university's financial services operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Annual salary $27,780.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.
