Full-time/Part-time: Part-time, 29 Hours per week
Pay: $10.50-$12.45/hour
Tuition Reimbursement: 10%
Southeastern's Financial Aid Assistants engage with students who walk in, call, or email; answering questions and providing necessary details for the many financial aid opportunities at Southeastern. They assist the Financial Aid Coordinators in stewarding the many scholarships provided by generous donors.
The ideal candidate for this position is mission-minded, others-focused, and light-hearted. They're the first to volunteer, and they laugh while they sweat. They will exemplify godliness by being above reproach, sober-minded, not violent, hospitable, self-controlled, not quarrelsome, thought well of by outsiders, respectable, managing their household well, and not being a lover of money.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesFinancial Aid Assistants:
· Counsel and advise students about financial aid eligibility, payment options, application procedures, aid programs, costs, indebtedness, money and management, and financial planning; individualize information to the unique needs and situation of the student/family
· Represent the Financial Aid team in a professional, knowledgeable, and welcoming manner
· Assist in the preparation and maintenance of materials including presentations and flyers/resources shared with students
· Ensure students complete all requirements for disbursements as defined by institutional policy, donor agreements, and scholarship providers.
· Read, comprehend, and comply with institutional, government, and private donor regulations and policies pertaining to the provision of student financial aid
· Interact effectively as a member of a team and work collaboratively with others
· Identify and prioritize problems; perform research, offer solutions, options, and strategies. Refer to the appropriate person or department as needed, and/or arrange for required support for students.
· Use information systems to input data, maintain databases, perform research for projects or issues, and generate reports.
· Participate in all meetings & committees assigned, provide new ideas, and support
· Complete training as required and assist in the training of staff as requested
· Other job duties as assigned

Work ScheduleStudent Resources and Financial Aid is open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Associate Director coordinates with each employee before each semester to ensure schedules provide adequate coverage for the office and accommodate academic coursework.
