Finance Manager/ Assistant Finance Manager, Faculty Partnership and Solution Team in the Finance and Enterprises Office (Ref.: 526576)

The Role

The appointee will work in the Faculty Partnership and Solution Team to provide assistance in the following areas:

  • Supervise a team to perform the financial control and management for the assigned faculties, including budgetary control, resource allocations, research projects vetting, and regular review of financial position;
  • Handle and resolve inquiries on budget and financial matters in accordance with the established policies and procedures;
  • Manage project accounts to ensure the accuracy of financial reports and timely submission;
  • Support year-end closing procedures and liaise with auditors during the annual audit;
  • Prepare financial reports and analysis in accordance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements;
  • Assist in updating and reviewing the University's financial policies and procedures, as well as other manuals related to financial operations; and
  • Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications and Qualities

  • A recognized Bachelor's degree in the Accounting, Finance or related disciplines;
  • A qualified accountant and/or member of recognized professional accounting bodies;
  • At least 6 years' relevant work experience, preferably in universities or sizable organisations with a minimum of 3 years at the supervisory level;
  • A strong sense of responsibility and commitment, good supervisory skills, and ability to work independently;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and QlikView or other business intelligent systems; and
  • Hands-on experience in Oracle Financials would be an advantage.
  • What We Offer

    The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
