Finance Assistant - Purchase Ledger

Salary: Grade 4 (£23,700 - £25,138 p.a.)

The Finance Assistant - Purchase Ledger is a key member of Unipol Student Homes finance team. This role involves managing the purchase ledger and ensuring that all invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.

We are looking for someone to take ownership of preparing payment runs, ensuring all payments are processed accurately and within agreed timelines. Also to liaise with suppliers regarding invoice and payment queries, building and maintaining positive relationships. As a member of the Finance Team you will also respond to general finance queries via telephone, email and web chat, providing timely resolution and outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, verify, code and process supplier invoices and credit card statements, ensuring they are accurately recorded in the accounting system

• Obtain authorisation for payment from the appropriate departments and ensure compliance with Unipol's financial policies

• Keep track of outstanding invoices, proactively following up on unsigned invoices to adhere to payment terms, escalating any urgent demands

• Review vendor account balances and ensure vendor information such as bank account details and addresses are reviewed periodically

• Support in developing and improving purchase ledger processes, systems and controls

• Process monthly payments for properties Unipol are managing on behalf of the owners
