About the Department
The Finance Department has responsibility for budget preparation and monitoring, financial accounting, treasury management and control of all payments made, and income received by the College.
The Financial Operations team, consisting of 14 members, reports to the Head of Financial Operations, who reports to the Deputy Director of Finance. This team comprises the College's Credit Control, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and Finance and HR Systems functions. Financial Operations manages a substantial portfolio, handling interactions with over 4,000 suppliers and serving more than 8,000 students annually.
The Finance and HR Systems Team manages the Unit 4 Business World Finance and HR system and the Hireserve recruitment system. They support Finance, Payroll, Procurement, Information Technology and Digital Systems (IT&DS), POD (People and Organisational Development), and users across the College.
About the role
The Finance and HR Systems Manager will oversee and lead the management of both the Unit 4 Business World and Hireserve systems, including preparing for the transition of the current on-premises systems into a cloud-based ERP while continuing to support and resolve any issues. The main goal is to ensure that these systems meet user needs and align with the College's goals.
The manager will handle the entire lifecycle of both the Unit 4 Business World and Hireserve systems, from development to support, ensuring they deliver value and meet user needs. This includes choosing the right development methods, prioritising tasks, planning updates, testing, and managing the systems' backlogs.
About the candidate
The successful candidate will have considerable experience of working with ERP systems, mentoring staff, and driving significant change. The candidate will need to be highly technical, hands-on and practical, having had substantial experience managing the Unit 4 product in previous positions.
