About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Faculty Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving data-informed decision-making and both operational and strategic planning across the Faculty of Science and Engineering. You will be committed to continuous improvement, and will work closely with key stakeholders, analysing business intelligence, developing dashboards and making recommendations to enhance productivity, efficiency, and financial sustainability.

This is not just a number-crunching role – you will engage multiple central service partners including Strategy and Planning, Financial Services and People and Culture, to ensure holistic and impactful analysis.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyse both faculty and university-wide data to support both operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Create intuitive dashboards to provide real-time insights for faculty leadership and staff.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with institutional goals.
  • Identify and recommend business and system process improvements to drive efficiency.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation in collaboration with Financial Services and People and Culture.
  • Prepare reports, briefing papers, and feasibility studies to support faculty-wide decision-making.
  • Who we are looking for:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with extensive experience in business analysis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the higher education sector and university operations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with data modelling, statistical analysis, and dashboard development.
  • Ability to conduct feasibility studies, business process modelling, and cost benefit analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights in a compelling way.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with faculty leadership, central service teams, and external partners.
  • A solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to translate complex data in actionable insights.
  • Role Requirements:

  • As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
