  • Position Summary:

    UAF Facilities Services is seeking students for Grounds and Operations jobs within Facilities Services.

    Duties:

    100UAF Facilities Services Student Assistants work under general direction. Duties will vary depending on the department/shop which is hiring. Supervisors from the Division of Operations (Grounds, Greenhouse, Labor, Warehouse, Vehicle and Transportation Services) hire students on an as needed basis. Typical duties will require: basic computer skills, ability to work with others, ability to follow directions, regular attendance and timeliness, and to meet general expectations expressed by supervisor. Prior related experience or a strong interest in the trade/field. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment. Possess a valid driver's license. Ability to understand safe driving regulations and methods Student Assistant tasks within the Division of Operations often require performing general physical activities; handling and moving objects, manual dexterity, physical coordination, strength, stamina, and being outdoors exposed to all types of weather conditions.Essential

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Prior related experience or a strong interest in the trade/field. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment. Possess a valid driver's license. Ability to understand safe driving regulations and methods

    Preferred Experience & Education:

    Any combination of education and experience which clearly demonstrates the skills and abilities necessary to accomplish the essential functions of the job (see knowledge, skills, and abilities required above.)

    Required Experience & Education:

    To be eligible for Facilities Services student employment, an applicant must:

    Be enrolled at UAF with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or

    Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters; and

    Have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA, or a newly enrolled student.

    Salary Information:

    Student starting pay - $16.15/hr
