Facilities Officer (holding the functional title of Assistant Facilities Manager) in the Maintenance and Operations Unit of the Estates Office (Ref.: 524665) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal).

Applicants should possess (i) a recognized Degree/Diploma in Fire Engineering/Services, Building Services, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, with at least 10 years' experience in fire services system maintenance and repair; OR (ii) 5 passes in HKCEE and Certificate in Fire Engineering/Services, Building Services, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, with at least 15 years' experience in fire services system maintenance and repair. They should be skilled workers registered as Class A Electrical Worker; have a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; have a good understanding of local fire safety regulations; and should be proficiency in MS Office/AutoCAD system. Possession of a valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) issued in accordance with Chapter 59 of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance (i.e. by attending the relevant safety training courses which are recognized by the Commissioner for Labour) or equivalent, and valid driving licenses (Classes 1 and 2) with solid driving experience, are required. Preference will be given to those registered as a Fire Service Electrical/Mechanical Fitter.

The appointees will perform all facility management tasks of the premises in the University, including supervising contractors in carrying out inspection, maintenance and repair works to a condition that conforms with the University and statutory requirements; providing technical supports/advice; preparing tender/quotation documents; operating the fire detection system (AFA) panel for devices/system isolation; and performing other duties as assigned. Working outside normal office hours and providing emergency on-call service may be required.
