Job description

Finance, Infrastructure and Commercial Services

The Facilities Operations team currently have a permanent, full-time position (36.5 hrs per wk) immediately available, based on Streatham campus and supporting St Luke's campus. Applicants must possess a clean driving license.

The current vacancy is for the operational working hours 12:00-20:00

Summary of the role

You will be part of a team of operatives engaged to fulfil the operational needs of the University, delivering a robust and professional service to the Colleges, Professional Services and visitors. The central team operates between the hours of 7.00am and 8.00pm Monday to Friday and very occasional weekends as required operationally, with optional overtime available. This role will include cover and other operational support within Facilities Operations.

Flexibility and adaptability are key components of this role as operational requirements may change at short notice. These are physically demanding positions and the post holders will be covering a wide range of duties including facilitating room and event set-up requirements, lifting and carrying large pieces of equipment, as well as participating in waste and recycling duties between the Exeter campuses.

Main purpose of the job:

To undertake, daily, various Facilities Operations tasks to provide a safe and suitable environment for staff, students and visitors to the University. There will be elements of driving, equipment moves, setting and resetting teaching rooms, event support, some security and assisting with incident support when required.

You will hold a clean driving license and will be required to drive University registered vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes as part of their normal daily process.

You will be expected to carry out duties with minimal supervision and will liaise with a wide range of customers.

You will be expected to conduct yourself in a professional manner during all activities.
