Facilities Assistant

Description

Would you like to work in one of two newly refurbished University buildings? Do you have experience in and enjoy helping others, in particular young people? Our Facilities Assistants are vital in keeping students, staff, visitors and our buildings safe, sanitary and operational. They are friendly and diligent and work hard to contribute to the success of the University, no matter what the day brings. As part of a close knit and loyal team, you will be involved in all aspects of managing building facilities including patrolling, engaging one-to-one with students and visitors, responding to alarms and incidents, waste and recycling, cleaning response and a whole lot more.

You will work alternating weeks of early shift (06:45 – 13:15) and late shift (12:15 – 18:45) Monday to Friday on a permanent basis. The remainder of your hours will be banked and then utilised to cover absence of colleagues in your team.

A current full driving licence (manual transmission) is essential as you will be driving University of Plymouth vehicles.This role is also subject to health surveillance with our Occupational Health team.
