This position operates out of Douglas College Coquitlam campus, however some travel to other Douglas College locations may be necessary sometimes.

The Role

This position is pending funding. The Career Coach facilitates the in-class component of the program and provides career coaching for the Encore Careers program which support clients aged 55+ who are seeking to re-enter the labour market or change careers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with program marketing and participant recruitment;
  • Conduct individual needs assessments/screening to determine eligibility for program and job readiness
  • Facilitate 6 week in class sessions to assist clients with
  • Collaborate with program team to create a calendar of events and activities, including organizing field trips and guest speakers;
  • Provide team coverage assisting with Job Development and Placement when required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement model reviewing program design, soliciting feedback from participants and stakeholders and making recommendations to ensure program outcomes;
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, program participants, community service providers and employers.
  • To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need

  • Knowledge of the needs of workers aged 55+ in relation to the current labour market;
  • Knowledge of Canadian workplace practices, community employment related resources and current labour market knowledge across a range of industry sectors;
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate dynamic, employment focused workshops and meet targeted outcomes.
