How will you contribute?
As EHS Engineer, you are responsible for the investigation, reduction and
control of all areas that may influence the safety and occupational risks of
all employees, the work environment, and the management of all aspects related
to well-being. You Implement LIST's HSE strategy and monitors compliance with
regulations. Thanks to your knowledge of labor and HSE regulations you
participate to projects for the development/modification of premises.
Your mission at LIST is to:
Contribute to the definition of an HSE policy and the implementation of a
process-based management system and the appropriate tooling.
Conduct risk assessment, law monitoring and advise the departments in the
implementation of risk prevention actions, participates in the development
of specific procedures and instructions to improve safety.
Develop, implement, and monitor procedures, policies, and recommendations
to ensure the application of all HSE standards.
Follow up on accidents/incidents at LIST, writes reports for the ITM and
AAA and identifies deviations from expected results and
preventive/corrective actions.
Carry out internal audits and analyses the risks inherent to the activity
of LIST (laboratories, field activities, chemical and electrical risks,
etc.), evaluates them and recommends appropriate prevention and training
measures.
Give recommendations/advice on projects to fit out/modify premises and
install new equipment, as well as the introduction of chemicals and gases.
Maintain all legal documentation (Authorizations, safety records, …)
Conduct data analysis and reporting statistics.
Assure on-call duty
Create a safety culture and safeguarding of a safe work environment.
Based on your knowledge of a set of concepts, methods, or processes in the
field of HSE, you identify, analyze and solve problems within your scope of
intervention using technical tools and risks assessment.
You have a field experience that enables you to evaluate the feasibility and
effectiveness of solutions. You work and communicates with internal and
external parties and maintain relations with the ITM, public organisms
(Environmental administration, Health ministry). the inspection bodies, the
occupational health service, with the other inspection authorities in matters
of health and safety and with the emergency services in the event of
accidents, incidents, and fires.

As part of your profile and experience, you have:
In depth knowledge of HSE and concerned regulation and standards obtained
through advanced education (Bachelor or master's degree) combined with
relevant 3 years experience as Health and Safety Engineer, ideally in a
research or industrial environment
Strong knowledge of technical topics related to HSE (e.g. biosafety,
laser, radioprotection, electrochemistry, HVAC, etc.)
Significant knowledge of biology or microbiology is considered a strong
asset
Experience in writing reports and policies.
In-depth knowledge of LIST activities and practical knowledge of technical
building's aspects
Followed additional training in Health & Safety; you are certified ITM
safety officers (“travailleurs désignés”)
Skills in risk analysis methodologies
Strong organizational and communication skills
A strong ability to manage urgent or complex situations
Excellent command of English and French German is considered an asset
