Executive Officer in the Department of Electrical and Electrical Engineering (Ref.: 531081) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two- year fixed-term basis with contract­ end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a good Bachelor's degree, with at least 4 years' administrative work experience, preferably with research administrative experience gained in the higher education setting. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua and Cantonese) and demonstrate good computer literacy. They should also be good team players with good organisational, communication, problem- solving and interpersonal skills, and be able to work independently and be self-motivated.

The appointee will oversee the operations of the Department's research administration, manage research grants and project matters, and support the preparation of the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2026. In particular, the appointee will be responsible for:

  • coordinating academic/research staff in the submission of research proposals and applications to funding bodies;
  • developing and maintaining databases for research activities, grant management, and RAE documentation;
  • preparing reports on research activities, grant status, and RAE progress for internal/external stakeholders;
  • coordinating the preparation for RAE 2026, including collecting/organizing research outputs, data and documentation required for RAE submission, and working closely with academic/research staff to ensure timely and accurate submission of RAE materials;
  • supporting academic/research staff with project administration matters;
  • implementing quality assurance processes to enhance the department's research output and impact;
  • organising and facilitating meetings and workshops related to research and grant management;
  • handling research staff appointment; and
  • performing any duties as assigned.
