Executive Officer (holding the functional title of Manager), Research Centre Administration in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 531029) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

The Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Hong Kong (HKU Business School) strives to foster both academic and applied research to serve the needs of Hong Kong, China and the rest of the world in the fast- changing global economy. The Faculty is currently elevating its research centres and institutes as an enabling platform to promote interdisciplinary research, engage with the community and generate impacts on society. The Research Centre Administration Team is a team of enthusiastic and dedicated professionals to support the growth and development of the research centres and institutes.

Applicants should possess a good bachelor's degree with at least 3 to 4 years of full-time work experience, preferably in tertiary institutions or the education sector. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua; good interpersonal, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills; computer literacy and proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); and the ability to multitask under pressure and work independently as well as in a team, with a strong sense of responsibility and a high level of initiative.

The appointee will be deployed to provide administrative support for the research centres/institutes in the following areas:

  • Assist in providing secretariat support to centres/institutes, including meeting arrangements and preparation of annual plans and reports, presentation materials and other forms of reports and documents;
  • Provide support in implementing marketing and communications strategies for the centres/institutes;
  • Organise academic and outreach events and activities such as visits, forums, seminars, symposia and conferences for the centres/institutes;
  • Produce marketing collaterals and development of website/social media content; and
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
