As Australia's first private University, Bond University, based at Robina on the Gold Coast, seeks to be recognised internationally as a leading independent university, imbued with a spirit to innovate, a commitment to influence, and a dedication to inspire tomorrow's professionals who share a personalised and transformational student experience.

The University is ranked 20th in the Times Higher Education rankings of the Best Small Universities in the World, and has been Australia’s top university for the educational experience for seventeen consecutive years.  Bond is focused on quality, a determination to be a tight community and distinctive institution, and has an entrepreneurial approach with close links with industry.

The Executive Dean role reports directly to the Vice-Chancellor and provides an opportunity to join a highly cohesive, stable executive team.  The Bond Business School has accreditation with both EQUIS and AACSB, and produces graduates with high employability skills.  The School’s research is strong, particularly in data analytics and the quantitative disciplines.

This key position will have accountability for the leadership and management of the School’s performance including its financial performance, staffing and resources, teaching, research and scholarship activities, service, and administration. The role will serve on the University Management Committee and work closely with other senior colleagues. The new Executive Dean will be a collaborative leader who brings a university first perspective and a willingness to work across campus.  The role requires an ambitious leader, capable of working autonomously, with a partnership and external focus.

The successful incumbent will have a PhD and a strong record of academic achievement as well as extensive strategic and operational management experience. A solid understanding of the higher education sector at the national and international level and its impact on business, government and industry is also required. They will have the demonstrated ability to promote and enhance a culture of excellence in teaching, research and service activities amongst staff, and evidence the proven capability to establish and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
