Executive Assistant (Fixed Term)

The Department of Engineering is offering an exciting opportunity for the right individual with a positive, proactive attitude to join a dynamic and expanding research centre which is new to Cambridge.

The University has received funding for one of three Hubs in Telecommunications, named 'Platform Driving the Ultimate Connectivity' (TITAN). The TITAN consortium comprises 16 UK universities, each with distinct domain expertise in telecommunications. The University of Cambridge, through its LiFi Research Centre (LRC), is leading TITAN. The aim of this Hub is to lay the foundations for the future 'network of networks' and to translate this research into emerging global standards, such as 6th generation (6G) wireless networks. Additionally, the University is involved in the second Telecoms Hub, 'All-Spectrum Connectivity' (HASC), which is led by the University of Oxford, along with several other publicly funded projects aligned with TITAN.

The TITAN Hub is based within the Electrical Engineering Division at West Cambridge and we are seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to provide administrative support to the TITAN Director. You will also manage the day-to- day operations of the LRC in order to ensure the efficient and effective management of time and workflow.

You will be responsible for the comprehensive management of administrative matters, responsibility for small budgets, arranging travel and workshops and acting as Personal Assistant to the Principal Investigator. Additionally, you will be required to provide cover for the TITAN Group Research Coordinator as necessary.

Educated to degree level/Level 6 vocational qualification, or an equivalent level of practical experience, you will be an experienced user of Microsoft Office, with excellent organisational skills. Previous high-level PA/secretarial administrative experience within a role in higher education, as well as experience of developing/reviewing administrative processes and system is essential. Knowledge of working within the University of Cambridge structure would be desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also necessary pre-requisites for this role.

If you think you are the ideal candidate for this role, we would be delighted to hear from you

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 March 2025 in the first instance.

Applications are welcome from internal candidates who would like to apply for the role on the basis of a secondment from their current role in the University.
