    White Rose University Consortium is seeking an experienced communications practitioner with a background in developing communication plans to boost an organisation's profiles. This is an exciting new role, central to bolstering engagement and elevating the profile of the Consortium across the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield, and York and the sector.

    White Rose University Consortium works collaboratively across the universities of Leeds, Sheffield, and York, to enable individuals from all backgrounds to thrive within our institutions. As a strategic partnership, we actively engage with institutional, regional, and national partners to propel positive change and create sustained impact.

    Role

    The Engagement and Communications Manager role offers an exciting new opportunity to support the Head of White Rose in realising a bold new vision and mission that enables our people to thrive.

    In this role, you will be responsible for creating and executing a strategic communications plan for the consortium and fostering networks across the three universities. You will play a key role in overseeing the Community Fund, which is intended to catalyse the establishment of networks and communities across the universities.

    A proactive storyteller, you will have a proven track record in producing captivating content across various channels. Your collaborative efforts with partners have led to the execution of engaging communications campaigns for diverse audiences.

    This is a full-time role, however part-time working at a minimum of 0.8 FTE will also be considered. We are open to flexible arrangements - please feel free to discuss them with us.

    Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
  • Level 6 qualification. (Qualifications at this level include a degree. Please view the full list). We also welcome applicants with equivalent non-UK qualifications or equivalent professional experience.

  • Substantial experience of working in a strategic communications role with a track record of raising an organisation's profile.

  • Experience of developing and delivering a multi-audience communications plan.

  • Ability to create and manage content across various mediums, including web, news, newsletters, videos, and social media, with a focus on responsible, accurate, and accessible communication.

  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills, with evidence of building collaborative, productive working relationships and networks.

  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative and work independently, as well as collaboratively, to develop effective communications activities.

  • Experience of managing social media channels.
