Energy Partnerships Manager (Fixed Term)

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 24 months in the first instance.

The Strategic Partnerships Office (SPO) seeks an Energy Partnerships Manager to join the business team. The SPO supports Cambridge University's partnerships with businesses and universities around the world. We work with the University's Schools, Faculties and Departments to create, identify and share opportunities for strategic collaboration across all disciplines and countries.¿This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, busy team and be part of a positive working environment. The team currently works in a hybrid way with one core office day each week.

The Energy Partnerships Manager will be responsible for the University's portfolio of strategic industry partnerships that support research enabling the energy transition. They will be responsible for oversight of the University's existing and developing strategic partnerships, and for generating new leads that have potential to become strategic partnerships in the energy transition industry. They will be instrumental in engaging internal stakeholders and coordinating the delivery of a shared strategic framework for engaging with businesses enabling the energy transition. While the role holder will be expected to manage partnerships across the breadth of the University's energy research, they will prioritise strategic partnerships with businesses focused on photovoltaics, energy storage, energy distribution and low carbon fuels. We therefore particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience in these fields.

Responsibilities include maintaining strategic oversight of the sector and establishing best practice in managing relationships with business partners. This will include working with the sector lead to: proactively manage a pipeline of business sector partners strategically placed to deliver the University's ambitions; support the sector lead in delivery of strategic partnership plans (in collaboration with the internal and external stakeholders); grow existing partnerships where possible; and provide regular reports and briefings to a variety of stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who is educated to at least first-degree level, has good knowledge of the greening energy sector, experience of building and maintaining partnerships and a good understanding of research and knowledge exchange, ideally in an academic environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills as well as tact and diplomacy. If this describes you, we would love to hear from you.

Applications are welcome from internal candidates who would like to apply for the role on the basis of a secondment from their current role in the University.
