Under supervision of either a full time or designated adjunct faculty, this hourly position involves teaching of emergency medical services skills in the laboratory setting. Skills taught may include Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic.

This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.

Required Qualifications

Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced EMT or Paramedic certification. 1 year of full time EMS agency experience or WSU faculty recommendation. Utah Emergency Medical Technician certification for EMT skills position. National Registry Paramedic and Utah certification for Paramedic skills position. Current AHA BCLS certification requred for both positions. AHA ACLS and PALS required for Paramedic instruction. Basic computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate or Bachelors degree. Graduation from a CAAHEP/CoAEMSP accredited paramedic program. Utah Bureau of EMS or NAEMSE Instructor's certification. Critical Care Transport Course completion.

Hourly skills instructors are utilized on an “as needed” basis with no set or guaranteed number of hours.
