Employee Relations Specialist

Description

About the role

The University of Plymouth is seeking a skilled Employee Relations Specialist to join our HR Partnering Team. The role focuses on managing and advising on employee relations (ER) matters across the University to support a positive, inclusive, and compliant work environment. You will provide expertise in handling ER cases, fostering effective workplace relationships and ensuring adherence to University policies and employment laws.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a fixed-term basis until 31st July 2025 due to business demand.

For this role, you will need to be on site 3 days a week. Although we can accommodate hybrid working, flexibility to be on-site will be expected depending on business needs

What we're looking for

In this people facing role you will need excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to quickly build relationships, persuade, influence and articulate complex information in an accessible way, and present to a range of audiences.

You will also have a proven track-record of working in HR at a professional, partnering level, demonstrable experience of successfully supporting managers through complex employee relations issues and strong applied knowledge of up- to-date employment legislation.

CIPD level 5 (or demonstrable equivalent experience) is essential for this role and CIPD Level 7 (or demonstrable equivalent experience) is desirable.
