The Opportunity
The Monash Centre for Electron Microscopy (MCEM) is seeking outstanding candidates for either a HEW 7, Electron Microscopist or HEW 8, Electron Microscope Scientist.
Electron Microscopist - Suited to an early career professional looking for an opportunity to grow and develop in the field of Electron Microscopy, the Electron Microscopist will have prior experience using TEMs and will have expertise in at least one TEM sample preparation capability.
Electron Microscope Scientist - An ideal opportunity for an experienced professional who has expertise in TEM and has managed TEM sample preparation capabilities; the Electron Microscope Scientist will provide expertise and training in transmission electron microscopy and will be responsible for the management of TEM sample preparation equipment with a strong understanding of multiple TEM sample preparation techniques.
Your understanding of electron microscope instrumentation, its maintenance and optimisation, together with your experience in the application of electron microscopy to the solution of complex research problems in the physical sciences, will be critical to your role, as will outstanding communication skills.
If you have a postgraduate qualification in science or engineering or another relevant discipline and extensive relevant experience in electron microscopy, then you are strongly encouraged to apply.
