    The School of Trades is seeking an experienced leader to join the team as Educational Team Lead - Electrical and provide direction, instruction and guidance to Vocational Education and Training (VET) educators and teaching teams. This role will oversee the delivery of the VET qualifications within our school including Electrotechnology and Airconditioning.

    In this newly developed role, under the guidance of the Deputy Dean VET, you will follow the university strategic plan to lead, direct, instruct and guide VET educators to achieve team objectives and contribute collaboratively to the overall success of teaching teams. Working closely with the Deputy Dean of VET, you will engage with both internal and external stakeholders to identify and develop innovative course concepts.

    In addition to your knowledge and experience in education and industry, you will bring to this position your strong interpersonal skills and experience in educational leadership and people management.

  • Position Requirements

    Mandatory:

  • Knowledge of the education and training sector and the ability to positively respond to new directions and demands of the training market.
  • Possession of relevant vocational qualification/s industry qualification (certificate, trade certificate, diploma, degree or masters).
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or a Diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated capacity for best practice in the management of teaching and learning activities including delivery, assessment and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated current industry skills directly relevant to the training/assessment being undertaken.
  • Educational leadership and demonstrated oversight of all aspects of the course/s allocated, including the management of staff and associated administrative responsibilities.
  • Demonstration of prior responsibility for ensuring the alignment of learning outcomes, learning activities and assessment of the course/s with the training package requirements.
  • Working effectively as a team member, with demonstrated capacity for leadership and self management and an ability to accept, promote and manage change.
  • Desirable:

  • Five or more years teaching experience within vocational education or another post-compulsory education experience and hold an approved teaching qualification.
  • An understanding of the University's governance structure in order to progress outcomes.
