THE ROLE

Our Duty Managers play a lead role in providing a safe, clean and welcoming environment for our members and guests.

Duties include:

Overseeing the operations of the facilities during shift including opening and closing.

Building strong relationships across teams to ensure a positive experience for members, guests and other stakeholders.

Managing first aid and emergency responses.

Reporting and following up on all repairs and maintenance issues.

Managing and monitoring the daily pool plant operations ensuring compliance with guidelines.

Providing cover for Lifeguards lunch and rest breaks, if required.

​Macquarie University Sport & Aquatic Centre and Sports Fields operates 5.30am–10.00pm on weekdays, and 6.00am – 7.00pm on weekends, with shifts available for weekend, weekday, early morning and evening work.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

Previous experience in the operation of a wet and dry leisure centre

A team player with an ability to inspire others

Demonstrated experience monitoring and overseeing pool plant operations

Knowledge of WHS and public safety applications within leisure facilities

Commitment to a high level of customer service

Excellent problem-solving skills

The ability to communicate and interact effectively with a diverse range of ages, abilities, cultures and needs

This position requires:

Current Pool Plant Operations Certificate

NSW Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)

Current First Aid & CPR Certificate

Demonstrated Lifeguard experience and holds a current Lifeguard Certificate.

NSW Drivers Licence

Desirable Criteria

Aquatic Supervision qualification
