THE ROLE

Our Duty Managers play a lead role in providing a safe, clean and welcoming environment for our members and guests.

Duties include:

  • Overseeing the operations of the facilities during shift including opening and closing.
  • Building strong relationships across teams to ensure a positive experience for members, guests and other stakeholders.
  • Managing first aid and emergency responses.
  • Reporting and following up on all repairs and maintenance issues.
  • Managing and monitoring the daily pool plant operations ensuring compliance with guidelines.
  • Providing cover for Lifeguards lunch and rest breaks, if required.
  • ​Macquarie University Sport & Aquatic Centre and Sports Fields operates 5.30am–10.00pm on weekdays, and 6.00am – 7.00pm on weekends, with shifts available for weekend, weekday, early morning and evening work.

    About You

    To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Previous experience in the operation of a wet and dry leisure centre
  • A team player with an ability to inspire others
  • Demonstrated experience monitoring and overseeing pool plant operations
  • Knowledge of WHS and public safety applications within leisure facilities
  • Commitment to a high level of customer service
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • The ability to communicate and interact effectively with a diverse range of ages, abilities, cultures and needs
  • This position requires:

  • Current Pool Plant Operations Certificate
  • NSW Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • Demonstrated Lifeguard experience and holds a current Lifeguard Certificate.
  • NSW Drivers Licence
  • Desirable Criteria

  • Aquatic Supervision qualification
