| Position Description | The Harvard Kennedy School seeks applicants for a full-time lecturer position in Domestic Social Policy. We have a particular interest in candidates with a demonstrated record of policy analysis, application, and pedagogy in one or more of the following domains: education, housing, migration, transit, safety-net programs, and the application of machine learning and AI to social policy. The search is open to candidates who study these issues from a wide array of intellectual perspectives including, but not limited to, political science, public policy, sociology, economics, and related disciplines. We seek candidates who have experience with and talent for teaching, and a robust capacity to integrate across disciplinary boundaries. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about mentoring students writing capstone projects in social policy. A commitment to the Kennedy School’s public service mission is critical, as is the ability to nurture the development of students’ intellectual and practical skills. The initial appointment is for three years with the potential for renewal. Applicants should submit a cover letter, a CV, a description of past teaching experience (including evaluations, if available), three writing samples that speak to intellectual commitments and capabilities, and three letters of recommendation to the application portal at: https://academicpositions.harvard.edu/postings/16896 The committee will begin reviewing applications on December 1, 2026 and will continue to do so until the position is filled.
