Divisional Administrative Assistant

Health Research Location: Bailrigg Salary: £22,681 to £24,533 (Full time, indefinite) Closing Date: Monday 12 February 2024 Interview Date: To be confirmed Reference: 1659-23

We are looking to appoint an administrative assistant to support in the administration of a range of functions across the Division of Health Research at Lancaster University. This varied role would suit an administrator with the ability to demonstrate excellent organisational and administrative skills.

The Division of Health Research is a large and successful division within the Faculty of Health and Medicine at Lancaster University. The division hosts a number of health-related educational programmes and is home to a large number of research active staff who contribute to a range of health and social care related research programmes working alongside staff in DHR, across the Faculty and University and with external stakeholders.

The main responsibility of the administrative assistant will be to undertake a wide range of administrative tasks for the Division including support to research, education and the division generally; supporting existing priorities and new initiatives and working collaboratively across the Division, Faculty and University.

Experience of working in a higher education institution, research environment or health care sector is an advantage but not essential. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate initiative and the ability to work on their own with minimal supervision as well as in a team and communicate with a range of people from a variety of backgrounds.

You will work collaboratively with excellent communication skills and with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. The role will involve proficiency in a range of IT areas including the Microsoft suite of applications including Teams, Excel and Word.

Our team and the Division of Health Research provide a friendly environment that strongly supports the individual needs of each employee and which actively promotes a healthy work-life balance. The Faculty is committed to family-friendly and flexible working policies and has held a Silver Athena SWAN award since 2014 in recognition of its good employment practice undertaken to address gender equality in higher education and research.

The position is available for immediate start and we are open to discussing flexible working arrangements including part time or job share, working week and days/hours worked and flexible start and finish times.

This role could be undertaken as a blended position with a minimum of two days a week working with the wider team on campus (Health Innovation One).

Informal enquiries are welcome. Please contact Sarah Edwards email: [email protected]
