Job Title Director - Undergraduate Recruitment

Full Time/Part Time Full Time FLSA Exempt General Job Description

This is a professional position responsible for developing and executing a holistic undergraduate recruitment plan to assist with meeting university goals. Responsible for managing the day-to-day recruitment operations of the admissions office. Leads the design and implementation of initiatives and activities that advance undergraduate recruitment. Responsible for coordinating proactive programs and services that promote successful undergraduate enrollment, including recruitment, pre-matriculation, transition, retention, and graduation rates. Serves as a member of the enrollment management leadership team. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Vice President for Enrollment Management.

Essential Job Functions

1. Develops strategic recruitment objectives for undergraduate recruitment team.

2. Establishes and meets specific, measurable, and attainable recruitment goals, actively seeking efficiencies and improvements.

3. Utilizes data to monitor undergraduate recruitment trends and prepares reports to assess recruitment effectiveness.

4. Designs and implements undergraduate recruitment plan, including university partnerships, events, and programs.

5. Serves as a liaison between Admissions and campus departments to increase collaboration, determine needs, and identify resources for programming, recruitment, and retention.

6. Facilitates and provides public presentations on campus and in high schools and community colleges.

7. Contributes to the development of a communications plan that addresses the recruitment needs of a diverse prospective student population.

8. Hires, trains, supervises, coaches, and evaluates assigned staff.

9. Resolves undergraduate recruitment related issues.

10. Assists with departmental budget planning and tracking.

11. Stays abreast of developments and trends related to area of responsibility.

Non-Essential Job Functions

1. Participates in recruitment and retention activities as appropriate.

2. Serves on university committees as needed.

3. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

1. Knowledge of, or ability to learn, university policies and procedures.

2. Knowledge of developmental academic advising, retention management, and/or instructional strategies effective for college-age students.

3. Skill in using computer applications including spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.

4. Ability to learn office- and university-specific software.

5. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

6. Ability to plan, implement and evaluate programs.

7. Ability to establish and maintain a good rapport with university faculty and staff, students, and the general public.

8. Ability to work effectively and patiently with students.

9. Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement solutions.

10. Ability to provide support for student development with demonstrable concern for students.

11. Ability to engage students and to create and enhance their commitment to the institution and each other.

12. Ability to train and supervise others.

13. Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

Physical Demands Required Education

Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.

Required Experience and Training

Five years of related experience is required. Experience in higher education recruitment required. Professional experience as an admissions officer is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in educational leadership, business, marketing or a related field is preferred.

Special Conditions for Eligibility

Min Pay Rate Mid Pay Rate Salary Information Commensurate with Experience, Salary Grade - 5 Specific Job Requirements/Duties for this Posting Is Background Check Required? Yes Benefit and Retirement Eligibility

This position is eligible for participation in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) retirement plan, subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
