Macquarie University is seeking a talented and experienced Digital Backend Engineer to provide digital backend layout support to the team. What you'll do as a Digital Backend Engineer in the SiP Lab
Develop and own physical design implementations for high performance digital designs.
Work closely with the digital design team to understand partitioning and architecture.
Support high speed custom design implementations.
Develop scripted design flows, resolve issues with implementation.
About Us
The Faculty of Science and Engineering offers both undergraduate and postgraduate Degree programs across a diverse range of disciplines. The Faculty is also home to a number of world-class research centres. The Faculty continues to grow links with industry by building partnerships with commercial, government, cultural and professional organisations.
The SiP Lab is a newly formed, advanced hardware platforms and silicon chip design lab with advanced silicon system-on-chip (SoC) / system-in- package (SiP) capabilities. The research focuses on key semiconductor industry trends in communications and sensing, as well as partnering with adjacent research teams across the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the wider University to integrate their own novel IP onto a silicon platform, with benefits anticipated in the fields of synthetic biology, photonics, and quantum technologies.

How to Apply

Masters or bachelors degree in software, electronics or an associated field and experience working in the discipline.
Knowledge of RTL to GDS design flow.
Tapeout experience and advanced CMOS processes.
Experience with EDA tools.
Programming skills in Python, TCL, shell.
Working collaboratively in a technical team to solve technical problems.
