| Job Summary/Basic Function | Weber State University invites applications for the position of Development Director for the Dumke College of Health Professions. Job grade will depend on candidate qualification alignment with approved career ladder. The university is in the seventh year of an eight-year campaign, having publicly launched Amplify Weber State: The Campaign for Weber Stateon January 9, 2026. As of July 31, 2026, the campaign has raised over $140 million toward its $200 million goal, driving support for key priorities like scholarships, teaching excellence, and workforce needs. The Dumke College of Health Professions is widely recognized as Weber State University’s flagship college. It accounts for a substantial portion of the university’s annual graduates. Academic Programs: The college offers programs across associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. Program Reputation:
Reporting to the Campaign Director, the Development Director will work closely with Dumke College of Health Professions leadership to enhance and support their fundraising efforts. They are responsible for the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and ongoing stewardship of prospects capable of gifts in excess of $35,000. All Development staff, including any new hires, are expected to work as a team toward ‘Big W’ objectives and goals while also having primary responsibility for major gift fundraising within their assigned college/division including arranging visits with individuals, corporations, foundations and the preparation of private funding proposals. This position is specifically responsible for expanding the Dumke College of Health Professions donor base by forging new relationships with potential major gift donors. They are responsible for generating and tracking progress on a portfolio of 45 – 50 major gift prospects and soliciting them for gifts and pledges. The Development Director actively engages prospects in the portfolio and schedules approximately 165 significant contacts annually; to include 44 qualification contacts. In addition, the Development Director will be tasked to complete a minimum of 15 major gift solicitations annually. |
