Deputy University Librarian, Library, Assistant Secretary, Full-Time, Permanent

Applications are invited for the permanent, full-time post of Deputy University Librarian at the University of Galway Library.

The Deputy University Librarian has particular responsibility for Health and Safety, Library Spaces, Staffing and Library IT. The post holder ensures a safe, secure, comfortable environment that enables and inspires staff and students to carry out their study and work to the best of their ability. The postholder ensures that library staff are appropriately deployed to meet strategic goals and that they have the skills, competencies and development opportunities required to do their job and to develop their careers. The post holder ensures that Library IT infrastructure is developed and exploited for maximum efficiency and effectiveness of services. A specific focus for the next few years will be managing the new Library and Learning Commons project, leading Heads of Department in the development of new service models in preparation for the new building and overseeing planning for the move to the new Library and Learning Commons.

Salary: Assistant Secretary €107,173.00 to €122,637.00 p.a (This appointment will be made on the Assistant Secretary scale in line with current Government pay policy).
