    About the Job

    As Deputy Head of PR and Communications, you will oversee the University's PR strategy, shaping its public image through effective media engagement and stakeholder communication. Your role will involve:

  • Developing and executing PR strategies that enhance the University's reputation and brand.
  • Positioning key people and initiatives in the media to maximize positive exposure.
  • Monitoring news and policy trends to inform PR opportunities and challenges.
  • Utilising social media and digital platforms to strengthen PR efforts.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with media and influencers.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of four PR and Communications Managers, driving excellence in PR execution.
  • Collaborating with senior leadership to align PR strategies with institutional goals.
  • This is a high-impact, visible role for a proactive PR leader who can elevate the University's profile through compelling storytelling and strategic media engagement.
  • About You

    You are a strategic and results-driven PR professional with a deep understanding of the media landscape, policy environment, and reputation management. You thrive in fast-paced environments, balancing multiple priorities while delivering impactful PR campaigns.

    With a strong background in media relations, you can leverage social media and digital platforms to amplify PR efforts. You either have or can build a strong network of media contacts and influencers. As a natural leader, you inspire and guide teams, fostering a high-performing, best-in-class PR function.

    You're confident working alongside senior leaders, engaging colleagues, and driving a culture of proactive storytelling that enhances the University's brand and visibility.
