Birkbeck, University of London has an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our team as the Deputy Director of Marketing and Recruitment. This role will help support Birkbeck's development and growth, ensuring we continue to thrive as one of the world's leading universities.

  • As the Deputy Director of Marketing and Recruitment, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing Birkbeck's marketing and student recruitment strategy.
  • Managing and delivering a cross-institution marketing service to ensure value for money and return on investment.
  • Managing a marketing budget in excess of £1million.
  • Engaging with international partners and agents to develop and deliver the strategy.
  • Working with external suppliers to develop and deliver strategic advertising and marketing campaigns.
  • Deputising for the Director when necessary.
  • The ideal candidate for the Deputy Director of Marketing and Recruitment role will have:

  • A thorough understanding of the marketing and student recruitment professions within higher education.
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills and presentation skills and the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • At least two years of experience of developing and delivering successful, high-impact marketing and recruitment strategies in a higher education environment.
  • A degree or equivalent professional experience.

    Remuneration

    £61,856, rising to £69,074 per annum, Grade 9 of the College's London Pay Scale.
