  • About the Role his is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and versatile individual to join our team as the Department Support Officer (Administration) in the Department of Economics. You will play a vital role in providing high-quality administrative support, offering policy guidance to academic staff, and contributing to the smooth operation of the department. As part of a collaborative team, you'll have the chance to showcase your autonomy, initiative, and adaptability while working in a dynamic environment. This role offers a unique chance to be at the heart of academic operations, supporting the Faculty's strategic goals and fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide excellent customer service whilst handling and triaging emails and telephone enquiries.
  • Provide advice and administrative support to academics in relation to the UniTravel portal and iExpense claims ensuring compliance with Department, Faculty and University policies.
  • Source sustainable goods and equipment from internal and external suppliers, as required.

    You will also have:

  • A degree in a relevant disciple with substantial experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training within the tertiary education or similar environment.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively build and enhance relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent written communication skills with demonstrated experience in the development of plans, proposals, and business process documentation.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in the use of standard application software such as the Microsoft Office suite.

    This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
