About the roleWe are looking for an eager, motivated and resourceful individual to join our busy team. You will play a vital role, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the department office and providing advice, support and information.
Key elements of the role include providing administrative and executive-level support to the Head of Department for the Department for Health, with the responsibility for co-ordinating core Department activities including HR and finance matters and providing full secretarial support for a number of department committees.
This varied and interesting post also includes co-ordinating recruitment and staff induction activity, support for Faculty based teams, departmental events, enquiry management, overview and allocation of Departmental space and management of operational relationships with Professional Services colleagues across the University.
This position is available on a full-time (36. hours per week), permanent basis.
About youYou will need to be able to communicate persuasively and tactfully with colleagues, with an approachable and friendly style but with the willingness to challenge people and situations when necessary. You will also have excellent organisational skills, demonstrate a good use of initiative and have the ability to multi-task and prioritise a high workload.
