  • This is a full-time continuing position with salary in the range $86,371.95 - $92,658.90, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%.

  • About This Opportunity

    The Data Governance Officer is responsible for developing local procedures, reports, and other policy documents; providing data governance and management advice; coordinating or supporting process improvement or policy implementation initiatives; and supporting data governance lit awareness activities.

    Key responsibilities include:

  • Review data governance processes, develop local procedures for improvement, and assist in maintaining and implementing information governance frameworks, policies, and procedures under the guidance of the Manager, Data Strategy and Governance.

  • Support the Manager in identifying data governance gaps and deficiencies, coordinating improvement actions, reviewing data sharing agreements, and facilitating approvals.

  • Maintain governance registers, provide advice on data and records management, prepare presentations and reports, and contribute to communications and change management activities related to data governance.

  • Any other duties within the scope of the classification and within the limits of their skills, competence, and training.

  • About You

    Essential

  • Equivalent to an undergraduate degree in a relevant field or a combination of relevant experience and education/training.

  • Demonstrated experience in governance, data, IT governance, business analysis, or information management.

  • Proven experience in analysing data to create insightful reports or presentations for diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong research and analytical skills, coupled with robust interpersonal and communication abilities, including report writing, note-taking, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Desirable

  • Proficient in records governance and management, including its application in the higher education sector.

  • Knowledgeable about Queensland's regulatory environment concerning data, information, and records.

  • Background in the higher education sector or a large IT department, with experience in project/program management or continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Familiarity with information technology services within large organizational settings.

  • You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
