Your new role

The Engagement and Student Experience team oversee various digital platforms for current students, facilitate spaces for students to share their input across a range of student experience topics and specific initiatives, and provide analytics and insights for various projects.

Are you passionate about technology, analytics, and driving changes? As the Data Analyst, you will support the Manager, Analytics and Insights with designing and maintaining complex data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with stakeholders. Working closely with Curtin's Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) team, the Equity and Inclusion Team, and program coordinators, you will work to translate business requirements into effective data solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and maintain data pipelines into Curtin's data lakes, ensuring adequate management of data storage, data quality and integrity.
  • Identify relationships, patterns and trends in data.
  • Create dashboards by sorting, integrating and extracting data from multiple sources.
  • Work with various stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver data solutions.
  • Automate data linking processes.
  • We are looking for (the ideal candidate):

  • Experience using database systems and query tools for data interrogation, extraction and presentation.
  • Proficient in data collection, manipulation and evaluation of information.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to translate complex data to differing audiences.
  • Highly developed organisational skills, with ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience using Amazon Web Services (highly desired).
  • As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
