Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Cybersecurity Engineer Intern to join our team for Summer 2023 for the Hill Air Force Base Utah office. As an intern, you will work with our senior cybersecurity professionals to analyze systems, determine vulnerabilities, and mitigate accordingly. You will contribute to improving the overall risk posture of current Air Force systems and develop new skills in DoD Risk Management Framework.

What You Will Learn

  • Gain hands-on experience working on systems in various stages of the development lifecycle.
  • Learn how to analyze and document risk in the DoD Framework
  • Learn best practices and conduct system penetration testing to harden the environment
  • Learn how to work with a distributed team.
  • Learn how to patch and scan systems(STIG Compliance, ACAS, SCAP)
  • This internship offers a unique opportunity for candidates to develop their skills in cybersecurity, system compliance, and DoD systems. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our team of experienced engineers, learn from them, and make valuable contributions to our projects.     Required Minimum Qualifications

    Intern

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a similar field.
  • 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Must be registered for Full-time Internship Credit
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Familiarity with Linux
  • The ability to self-task
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Secret clearance
  • Experience in one or more programming languages
  • Vulnerability scanning experience
  • Basic Windows and Linux patch process knowledge
  • Familiarity with the (Risk Management Framework) RMF process
  • Familiarity with system hardening technical guides and/or best practices.

    40 hours per week

    U.S. Citizenship Requirements

    Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

    Clearance Type Required

    Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
